Live, Love and Shop Local

Everyone’s world has been turned upside down the last month or so with the pandemic. The sting of this crisis has affected everyone differently. It has really made me stop and think about the “what ifs” of life on so many levels. Corporations taking large measures for safety. The medical community is changing healthcare operations for everyone’s safety. Businesses are being labelled either essential or non-essential. The places we use to frequent on a daily basis are no longer convenient, and many of those places are locally owned businesses with families directly affected.

Easter At Home

To say Easter will look different this year is an understatement. Most churches, dining room tables and backyards won’t be filled with people. Rather we’ll be celebrating in our homes with only our immediate family members. While this does make me sad, it doesn’t mean we’re not going to make the best of it. Part of keeping things “normal”, if there is even such a thing at this point, will be an Easter meal with all the trimmings.

How Doing Less Can Actually Be More

Whew! It’s been a minute since I last wrote but that doesn’t mean I’ve been idle. As you know, I shared my word for the year to be intentional and that’s exactly what I’ve been trying to do. Getting the Most Out of Your Holiday Shopping

It seems that folks shop earlier and earlier for the holidays each year.  What used to be a Black Friday frenzy has now turned into the entire month of November with stores having Pre-Black Friday sales, leaks and all sorts of other promotions.  I love getting my shopping done early because the thought of fighting a crowd no longer appeals to me. DIY Halloween

Now y’all know I am not the Pinterest Queen unless we’re talking crockpots, but I’m stepping outside my comfort zone for Halloween.  The last two years, for whatever reason, I’ve found myself scrambling the week before Halloween for costumes. Now, this isn’t so much for Aubrey but really for myself and the hubs.  Also, thanks to Spirit Week since starting real school, I’ve had to come up with costumes on the fly. I’m sharing a few ideas in case you find yourself in the same kind of jam.

The Strength to Overcome

It’s icky, taboo and not really something we “want” to talk about.  But guess what? That doesn’t fix it or change the fact that many people, young and old, are dealing with it.  It doesn’t discriminate and often shows up at the most inopportune times. What is it? ANXIETY.

Someone call 2019 and tell them we need it back!  But really, this year has flown by. Finding Your "Fierce"

When someone says the word fierce you probably immediately think of strong, bold, or maybe even mean. Those were some of the things I thought of at least until meeting Aly Raisman at my company’s convention this past July. She began to explain how fierce can be anything you want it to be.

Game Planning - A Guide to Life & Business

Last week I shared how I believe that we can do “all the things” if we choose to implement a few steps to simplify our lives.  One of those was planning. I believe this to be the biggest factor in determining both success and maybe even sanity in our fast-paced world.  I want to share with you some valuable strategies I have learned over the last few years in hopes that you too can find structure whether it’s in everyday home life or business.
