Spring Makeup Trends

Spring always brings a sense of new possibilities. Lots of us are cleaning out closets, refreshing our yards, and planning for the beauty that comes with a new season. This time of year also means a lot of us to change up our makeup routines. Here are my top 5 products for a glowing look this Spring!

BB Cream

I like to make my own BB Cream by mixing a little face oil with my wax-based foundation.  I like to use a diffuser-type brush to apply. This gives light coverage and a beautiful glow. You can also create this mixture with a wax-based concealer.

Bronzer

Need that sunkissed glow after the long winter? Bronzer in the right spots will bring both color and dimension to your face. When placed just below the cheekbone, it can also slim the face. Win!

Brow Gel

As the saying goes, brows matter. A brow gel can add in some color and hold stubborn brow hairs in place to help shape the brows and frame your face. Make sure and pick a shade that is as close to your natural brow hair as possible.

Mascara

It may come as a surprise but you should replace your mascara every 3 months to avoid the spread of bacteria. Nothing feels quite as good as the application of a fresh mascara. Am I right? 

Lip Gloss

While I always tend to favor a nude matte lip, the warmer weather has me playing in lighter colors with some shine. Gloss gives lips a fresh, youthful appearance. It also offers you a chance to experiment with some brighter colors without a long-wearing commitment.

Now I didn’t mention it, but please don’t forget the SPF!  We’ve got to keep that skin looking youthful.
